Changes to How Hours are Attributed to Holidays

We recently released two changes to how hours are attributed on Holidays.

First

  • If you have an employee with recurring shift that crosses midnight and the “Work on Holidays” is set to No, we will adjust the holiday hours to the middle of the day on the holiday so that the portion after midnight is no longer deducted from the employee
  • This change has a transitional feature flip attached to it which is defaulted to new behaviour for all new accounts.
  • The feature flip is defaulted to the old behaviour for existing clients and we’ll need to manually transition the feature flip to the new behaviour.

Second

  • How we treat Leaves and paid days off. Again to avoid confusion with shifts that cross the midnight, we will generalize the hours for the leave or Paid day off by shifting the leave or paid days off hours to the middle of the day on the leave day. This however does not work for half day leaves.
  • This change has a transitional feature flip attached to it which is defaulted to new behaviour for all new accounts.
  • The feature flip is defaulted to the old behaviour for existing clients and we’ll need to manually transition the feature flip to the new behaviour.
