Leave Management: How to Enable the Default Conversion Days in PayrollHero

PayrollHero allows you to automate how many days will be used when converting an employee’s unused leave credits. By enabling Default Conversion Days, the system will automatically apply the preset number of days during leave conversion—removing the need for manual input and ensuring consistency across all employees.

This feature is useful if your company regularly converts a fixed number of leave days (for example, 5 days) at the end of a cycle or during scheduled conversion periods.

How to Enable Default Conversion Days

Follow the steps below to enable and set up Default Conversion Days for a leave type:

  1. Go to your Leave Management page.
    – This is where all leave-related configuration settings can be accessed.
  2. Click on the Settings tab.
    – This will open the configuration panel for your leave setup.
  3. Select Leave Types, then choose the leave type you want to update by clicking Edit.
    – Each leave type can have its own Default Conversion Days, so make sure to select the correct one.
  4. On the right side of the page, find the field labeled DCD (Default Conversion Days).
    – This is where you will enter the number of days the system should automatically use when converting leave balances.
  5. Enter the desired number of default conversion days.
    – The system will apply this number whenever you process a leave conversion for this leave type.
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.
    – Your settings will take effect immediately and will be used for future leave conversions.

It should look like this:

Once enabled, the system will automatically use the default number of days during conversion unless manually adjusted.
