Cancelling an employee’s leave request has traditionally required manual coordination between the employee and their approving manager, especially when the employee submits incorrect dates or details. This process can be time‑consuming, as the employee must request the cancellation, wait for managerial action, and then refile a new leave request with the correct information.
To streamline this workflow and reduce administrative overhead, PayrollHero now provides employees with the technical capability to cancel their own leave requests—provided the request has not yet been approved. This enhancement allows immediate correction of erroneous submissions and minimizes back‑and‑forth communication.
Step-by-Step Guide:
To cancel a leave request, the employee can follow these steps:
- Go to the Leave Management page.
- Click on the My Leave History page.
- On the right side of the page, beside the Duration column, click View/Cancel.

4. Select Cancel. A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation.

5. If you are sure, click Yes to cancel the leave request.
